Qualdes has been servicing the food and beverage industry for over 20 years. Our main site is in Sydney, whatever your location QualDes consultants can service you.    Our size provides us with the flexibility to respond to urgent requirements quickly, and our structure enables us to avoid the red tape of large organisations. Unlike other food consultants, QualDes is equipped to provide consultation in Product Development and Food Safety. We pride ourselves on being nimble and responsive to our client’s needs, and we guarantee confidentiality. Our team has a diverse knowledge of all food and beverage divisions. Meet the team

DessiraeDessirae Luther-Sproule

With extensive experience in both corporate and small business, Dessirae brings 25 years of industry experience to QualDes.

Previously responsible for Research and Development, and Quality Assurance at both Cerebos and Goodman Fielder, Dessirae understands the challenges faced by large organisations. She applies a multi-disciplined approach to generating sustainable solutions that:

  • are in line with her client’s unique corporate culture, and
  • support the long-term goals of the organisation.

Dessirae has a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree (Food Technology), as well as being an:

  • Exemplar Global Food Safety Auditor
  • SQF (Safe Quality Foods) Consultant

Her focus on a quality outcome, combined with her knowledge and experience in food technology, has positioned Dessirae as a well-respected leader in the industry.

In her spare time Dessirae loves cooking, cheese-making and gardening. She also has a fondness for collecting teapots and Armani figurines!



Ed McDonald
Food Consultant

Ed has been a long-term member of the food industry. His career has provided him with a wide array of high-level food management skills, as well as extensive technical experience.

With a Masters of Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours), Ed has been privileged to work with some of Australia’s leading food manufacturers, including Chef’s Pride, The Commissary, DFC Thompson and ARV Food Services.

As a result, Ed brings a wealth of experience from industries as varied as frozen food, pharmaceutical and cook-chill foods.

On his days off Ed enjoys playing golf, and is a keen traveller!

Senior Food Technologist

Ursula is a great communicator. She has the ability to see the world from the clients point of view, giving her the ability to deliver the right product every time. She forms close working relationships with clients and suppliers and is dedicated to providing a quality, professional service that supports customer’s goals and ambitions.

Ursula has experience in both Product Development and Food Quality which gives her the unique ability to develop safe and stable food products and her hands on experience in high risk facilities has made her a great trouble shooter and problem solver.

Ursula has over 15 years’ experience in the Food Industry having worked in both Quality Assurance and Product Development. Ursula has worked in New Zealand, England and Australia to gain a broad knowledge in the food Industry. Ursula has a Bachelor of Technology in Food Science, along with supportive training in auditing and HACCP.

On her time off, Ursula likes exploring and experiencing what her local area has to offer including bush walking in the Blue Mountains, visiting open gardens and discovering museums.
